Can You Order Shrooms in New York?

Following the footsteps of Colorado and Washington, D.C., a lawmaker is pushing to decriminalize psilocybin mushrooms in New York state.

Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal wants to remove psilocybin and psilocin from the state’s list of controlled substances. Success would mean taking a step toward opening access to psychedelic therapies across New York.

Things are moving forward!

Bill A6065 proposes an amendment to public health law that decriminalizes psilocybin to “allow further research into the study of the drug and its beneficial uses for treatment.”

As of May 2022, Rosenthal is supporting a second bill to open a psychedelic research institute in the state. The institute would explore psychedelics as a treatment for PTSD, addiction, and other mental health disorders.

Our Stance

Schedule35 operates from a decriminalized zone. We advise our customers to check their state’s laws and make the right call for them. Ordering from us doesn’t make us legally responsible for any consequences if shrooms have not been decriminalized in your state; but we also won’t refuse to deliver to any particular address in the U.S. just because shrooms aren’t legal or decriminalized there yet.

We’re always here to answer any questions you have. Our only goal is to help you learn what you need to know about psilocybin and safely try it if you’re interested.

That’s why we focus on the products first. You can message us anytime with questions relating to dosings, product ingredients, and microdosing magic mushrooms.

Can you buy shrooms in New York?

You won’t find shrooms for sale at any stores in New York. So, don’t go asking around, even if you think a store might have a stash in the back.

If you still want to order and take the risks, you can purchase products from Schedule35 as we operate from a decriminalized region.

We encourage all of our customers to research their state’s, city’s, and municipality’s rules before making a purchase. In most cases, it’s best to hold off and not take a risk of drug charges. Although it may be done in the name of health, the law doesn’t see it that way.

We aren’t lawyers or officers, and we fully endorse responsible dosing of magic mushrooms. That being said, everyone has to make the choice for themselves. If you decide to order from us, we provide our packages in discreet packaging to your address.

Microdosing Safety

Microdosing is the act of taking very small amounts of psychedelic or hallucinogenic substances to reap their benefits while minimizing risks. A lot of people who have tried magic mushrooms, LSD, or other psychedelics love the experience, but no one can spend their days regularly tripping.

There are also a lot of health risks with higher quantities of drugs, which people understandably want to avoid at all costs.

Microdosing is the middle ground for anyone interested in exploring psychedelics without full-blown trips. You take small doses every few days or as-needed. The goal isn’t to depend on shrooms — it’s to benefit from them so you can focus on living your best life.

According to the Journal of Psychopharmacology, a microdose 1% of the actual drug dose. Of course, the numerical value of a “normal” dose of shrooms or acid is harder to pin down. Some people have a tolerance, so their normal wouldn’t be safe for a first-time experimentalist to consume.

That’s why we consider microdosing the smallest quantity that yields results with the lowest amount of risk for each person.

There are some disclaimers we have to cover, though.

First of all, if you currently have any underlying health conditions or are on prescription medication, we don’t advise using shrooms without talking to a doctor. Likewise, if you have a family history of mental health issues, or you’re currently struggling with your own, it’s better to hold off on any mind-altering substances.

Some people can never take psilocybin for medical reasons. Respect your body, and above all, but your health and wellness first.

What are the benefits of microdosing?

People microdose for their own reasons, but usually, they want one or all of the following:

  • To experience less low moods
  • To feel more energized throughout the day
  • To improve focus and concentration
  • To improve their creativity
  • To feel more motivated
  • To feel more grateful, connected, and involved in life

study published in the Harm Reduction Journal also found that people enjoyed the fact they could control their own dose easily and the lack of significant risks of microdosing.

A lot of the benefits of microdosing link to mental health. The Schedule35 team has used them to manage stress, anxiety, and some depressive symptoms. We’ve also used them to improve our focus and live more presently.

In therapeutic settings, psilocybin can be administered as a treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and self-harm. We don’t advise self-medicating in lieu of therapy. Instead, work with a counselor to determine what types of treatment options would be best for you.

What are the risks?

The risks of microdosing psilocybin are rare and small, but they can occur in some people. You may try shrooms and realize they just aren’t for you. Other people may be particularly sensitive to even small doses and experience temporary symptoms associated with higher doses of psychedelics. These include:

  • Heightened anxiety
  • Poor mood
  • A feeling of discomfort and unease
  • Reduced focus
  • Lower energy

People with mood disorders or psychotic disorders should steer clear of psychedelics as well. Even small doses may induce undesirable effects that make their mental health symptoms worse.

That being said, for the majority of people, microdosing is safe. But if you have concerns, we get it. It’s not like you’re ever given an instruction manual on how to take shrooms in school.

That’s why we wrote one. Here is our microdosing guide. Give it a read, and if you have further questions, reach out to us.
